COMMUNITY OUTREACH
  • SAC HC Scholarship Program

SAC HC makes a considerable effort to assist any economically disadvantaged family who would like their children to play soccer in the Club.  SAC HC uses essentially the same income guidelines for this program that are used by the Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks. Specifically, to qualify for assistance, income must be less than $46,000 per year for a family of 3.  Each application is reviewed on its own merits and is approved or denied based on the information provided.

Verification of income is needed on yearly basis.  Required proof of income documentation includes a copy of last year’s Federal tax return (Form 1040)

Application Process: Fall and spring seasonal applications are accepted.  Contact SAC HC office for application details.

Program Participation:  During the fall 2006 and spring 2007 soccer seasons, 172 players were active in the program: 70% boys and 30% girls. Of these players, 145 attend elementary school, 20 attend middle school and 7 attend high school.

  • Soccer Against Cancer

On the month of October 2007, SAC HC conducted a "Soccer Against Cancer (SAC)" event whose mission was to raise awareness and to provide funding for the fight against cancer. All SAC HC teams were encouraged to participate and over $27,000 was collected and contributed to the American Cancer Society.
