SAC Player Registration and Adult Volunteer Registration

Players:

  • Please ensure that all players on your team are registered as a SAC member.
  • All SAC Travel players (U9 through U19) must complete the online SAC registration no later than August 1 and pay the club registration fee.
  • Players must be registered with SAC before they can be rostered with MSYSA.
  • Please ask your parents to forward you, the manager,  their SAC player confirmation email so that you know that they have registered with SAC.

Adults:

  • Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers and Treasurers must register online with SAC as an adult volunteer.  This is part of the household registration on Blue Sombrero.
  • Please send office staff contact information (name, phone number, email addresses)  for new team coaches, assistant coaches,  managers, and treasurers right after tryouts and after any changes are made.

MSYSA (Maryland State Youth Soccer Association) Registration

Annual Registration
Register

Teams must register players and adult volunteers annually. Team registration is done through MSYSA’s website (see link to the left).

Background Check
Form

All adults (managers, coaches, assistants) who are on MSYSA rosters must complete a Hireright Background Check and submit it to SAC office.

Card Stock

Card stock can be acquired in one of two ways:

  1. It can be picked up at the SAC office.
  2. It can be mailed to you.*

*If you would like card stock mailed to you, you must provide Sharon with your address.

Proof of Age

New Players:

  • Players who have never been carded with MSYSA will need a copy of their birth certificate or passport when submitting the player cards and paperwork to the State Registrar

Returning Players:

  • Players with current MSYSA cards will not need their birth certificate or passport to provide proof of age.

Start Date

After August 1, team rosters and player registration forms may be submitted to one of the state Registrars to have your roster approved and stamped.  The Registrar will contract you to pick up your completed paperwork.

Payment

Payment for MSYSA team registration fees should be made to SAC, through SAC Club Fees,  not the MSYSA registrar.

Approved Rosters

A copy of  the final approved roster should be submitted to Sharon at the SAC office.  Any changes to your roster throughout the year (additions/deletions) must be submitted to Sharon at the SAC office upon receipt of your approval.

Team Binder

Your approved/stamped roster, player cards, player registration forms, and medical release forms should be placed  in a Team Binder. All  MSYSA and League paperwork should be in the team binder and taken to all  games and tournaments by the manager or a representative.

Under Armour Travel Uniforms and Accessories

All SAC Travel team uniform orders are placed as single team order through Ewing Sports in Trenton NJ.  For guidelines on ordering, go to the SAC Travel Uniform webpage.

Notes:

  • SAC is sponsored by Under Armour. All team and coach apparel must be Under Armour. This includes keeper jerseys.
  • Team managers may borrow UA Uniforms, training jerseys and warm-ups for sample sizing from the SAC office.    Please email SharonEmail to request dates to borrow the items for your team meetings.
  • Required travel kit for players include uniform jerseys (blue & white), uniform shorts (blue & white), socks (blue & white) and a practice jersey (gray or gold).  This must be ordered through Ewing Sports.
  • All Goal Keepers will wear Under Armour jerseys.  They maybe purchased through Ewing Sports.
  • The Premier Blue team manager shall coordinate the player numbering system for the age group to ensure no duplication of uniform numbers between teams in the same age group.  U9 teams will issue the player uniform numbering system as follows:  Team 1 (1 to 22), Team 2 (23 to 44), Team 3 (45 to 66) and Team 4 (67 to 88).
  • U9-U10’s will purchase an extra team jersey for the rotating players.

BBSL
Baltimore Beltway Soccer League

  • All SAC teams playing BBSL must attend all mandatory meetings. Meetings can be found by clicking here.
    • Every team must have a representative attend one of the preseason meetings in order to play in the Fall BBSL league or pay an additional $100.00 league fee.
  • After the pre-season meeting, teams must complete the online application and note any tournaments or potential conflicts at that time.
  • When completing the BBSL application, please input the following information (field coordinator – Sharon Finney and field allocation – SAC will assign).
  • Checks should be mailed to BBSL once application is submitted.
  • SAC will submit the $500.00 forfeit bond to BBSL for the club; however, if your team has a forfeit, SAC will invoice your team for the $500.00 bond.

  • Team information from NCSL will be sent to you by the SAC Club Representative
  • Each new team must attend a mandatory “New Team Meeting”. Visit the NCSL website to find all meeting details.
  • STAR Training Classes – Each team must have three representatives trained for the STAR program.  See website for details.
  • Mandatory PCA Coaches Workshop- Free course workshops are offered by NCSL. Visit NCSL website for details.  NCSL will accept a workshop certification for two years.  Coaches who have attended both DGI and DGII workshops are certified for 4 years.  PCA certification taken online is valid for only one season.   •  You will be notified when your NCSL team field packets are at the SAC office for pick  up prior to the league season.
  • NCSL league games and make up games will be scheduled through NCSL not SAC.

Field Rentals and BOE Practice Fields

Covenant Park:

  • Please complete this form with multiple options (flexibility).
  • Return completed form to Sharon@sachc.org  between July 16th and July 27th for fall field rental requests and between January 19 and February 9th for spring field rental requests.
  • All fees and rules are listed on the form.
  • Managers, coaches, and treasurers will receive a confirmation with dates, field assignment, and fee estimates prior to the field rental season.
  • A deposit of 50% will be required prior to the start of field rentals.

BOE Practice Fields:

  • The Board Of Education has approved and assigned these fields for SAC for teams to practice on at no cost.  This list is updated for the Fall and Spring seasons.  Any specific dates that fields are not available are labeled accordingly and must be adhered to.  Please call the BOE weather line for possible closings: 410-313-6827.

Howard County Recreation and Parks (HCRP)

  • You can rent fields as a Howard County resident by calling 410-313-4700.  You will be responsible for paying your own team rental fees through HCRP.  SAC is not responsible for these rental fees.

U8 – U12 Technical Training

  • Technical Training Sessions (TTS) will be scheduled for your team each fall and spring season. It will be held weekly with 90 minute sessions typically led by the age group’s Premier coach.  Sessions are scheduled on Monday or Tuesday by the Director of Technical Operations, with some exceptions.
  • TTS schedules and instructions will be provided prior to each season.
  • Trainer fees are included in the SAC Club Fee.
  • Field usage fees are included in SAC Registration Fees.

Tournaments

  • All Premier Blue & White and all United Blue & White teams are required to participate in the SAC Columbia Invitational Tournament in May. All United Gold & Black teams must receive permission from the Director of Technical Operations for tournament selection on Memorial Day weekend.
  • All United teams are required to participate in the SAC Columbia Classic Tournament in November.
  • All U9-U14 United teams are required to participate in the SAC Columbus Day Tournament in October.
  • All U9-U10 teams are required to participate in the SAC Amanda Post Memorial Tournament in April.  All U11-U12 teams are recommended to participate in this tournament but may request to opt out at the discretion of the Director of Technical Operations.
  • The Team Manager or an assigned tournament volunteer should go to all of the selected tournament websites and read the rules and instructions for each tournament before applying.
  • SAC sponsored tournaments can be found at Elite Tournaments.
  • All tournament fees are paid direct by the team.

Financial Aid Requests

  • Parents should contact sharon@sachc.org for their financial aid application.  A financial aid application must be submitted for each season; fall and spring.
  • Players must pay the SAC Registration fee online.  Travel financial aid is for team assessments only.
  • Treasurers will be contacted to submit the Fall or Spring Budget to accompany any financial aid application for review.
  • Treasurers will be contacted with the status of the financial aid applications.  If approved, the treasurer will receive a SAC check of the approved financial aid amount to credit to the player’s team assessment.
  • Treasurers should establish a monthly payment plan for parents requesting financial aid.  Players will not receive financial aid for the full amount of the player assessment and will need to be responsible for those outstanding fees.
  • The maximum allowed scholarship is 70% of the team’s budgeted assessment for the season; not to exceed $750.

Tryouts and Supplemental Tryouts

  • The Primary Tryout Schedule will be posted on the SAC website in April each year.
  • Each age group’s Team Managers (all levels) will conduct the tryout player registration table as a group. The manager of the premier team will be considered to be the chairperson of the group.
  • Tryout paperwork and number packets will be provided to each age group.  This will be available in the SAC office and should be picked up by the chairperson or designee.
  • Team managers will provide a sign-in table and volunteers, as needed, to cover the scheduled days of tryouts.
  • Once players have accepted a position on a team, each team’s Coach (or Manager, if designated)  must email Sharon at the SAC office sharon@sachc.org with the players full name and tryout number, along with the names and contact information of the Coach, Manager and Treasurer. This information should be sent by team, rather than by individual player (wait until all positions are filled).
  • Supplemental tryout announcements may be posted on the SAC website by emailing eric@sachc.org.
